Background and Objective: Paddy production in North Luwu Regency is still lower compared to the potential yield of this area. One effort to increase paddy production is through intensification activities with an optimization model for improving the planting index (PI) by utilizing early maturing paddy varieties and appropriate technology packages. This research aims to determine early developing paddy varieties, fertilizer packages and the interaction between the two, which provide high growth and yield. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out in Sidobinangun Village, Tanalili Sub-District, North Luwu from May to November 2022. The research was arranged in a separate plot design with the main plot being various fertilizer packages consisting of p1 (NPK 200:100:100), p2 (NPK 200:100: 100+compost 2 ton/ha), p3 (3/4 NPK 150:75:75+compost 3 ton/ha), p4 (1/2 NPK 100:50:50+compost 4 ton/ha) and p5 (1/4 NPK 50:25:25+compost 5 ton/ha), as well as subplots of several early-maturing paddy varieties, namely v1 (Padjajaran), v2 (Cakrabuana), v3 (Inpari 13), v4 (Inpari 19), v5 (M70D), v6 (Inpari 32) and v7 (Ciherang). Results: The results obtained were yield of the v1 (8.61 ton/ha), p2 (8.15 ton/ha) and the interaction v1p2 (11.23 ton/ha) gave the best yield in this study. It was significantly different from 6 other varieties on the same fertilizer package. Characters that had a significant positive correlation with yield were: Chlorophyll a content, chlorophyll b content, total chlorophyll content, number of productive tillers, number of grains per panicle and weight of 1000 grains. Conclusion: The study concluded that the v1 and p2 is a combination with high yield.
